Welcome to NUA, Nagoya University of Arts
Art & Design Center
Introduction
The Art & Design Center simultaneously functions as a site to collect and disseminate cultural information from within and outside the school, and as an educational and cultural facility that is open to the public. Covering a variety of functions, the center's interior features two gallery spaces (BE, be) and a studio open for use by the public, a lounge area that doubles as an exhibition space, and other facilities allowing students to show their work. Just as important, it also functions as a place to draw artists from outside the school, providing artistic and cultural activities not just to the students, but to faculty as well. Another objective of the center is to promote a bottom-up approach to art education by providing a site for local residents to be exposed to the world of art and design.
