Music Division

Music Division encourages its students to cultivate rich sensitivity and humanity, and to open up their own potentials.
There are 13 courses in the division, and the students are aspired to become performing artists, composers, music producers, sound engineers, music therapists, etc.

  • Vocal Performance Course

    Voice is the most familiar expression medium, and it attracts many people. In this course, students learn right posture, breathing methods, and vocalization, and studying musical analysis and methods to tell meaning of lyrics, and acquire vocalism and joy of charming people by voice through learning.

  • Keyboards Course (Piano & Electronic Organ)

    Keyboard instruments are capable of wide range of musical expression. Piano majors learn variety of pieces from Baroque to modern and contemporary, and aim to acquire excellent performance skills. Electronic Organ majors study classical, pop, jazz, and electronics music genre by genre and learn techniques,sensitivity, and knowledge for musical expression thoroughly.

  • Strings, Woodwinds, Brass, and Percussion Course

    In this course, students strive to acquire performance skills and techniques to become able to exert leaderships as performers and coaches. Learning stage manners, mental posture for stage performance, and attentiveness to other musicians, the students are fostered to be performers and coaches with excellent techniques, mentalities, and rich sensitivity.

  • Wind Academy Course

    Students in this course aim to become specialists in wind instrument music. Studies involved in wind instrument music require students to master a broad range of knowledge and skill, including musical performance, conducting, composition and arrangement, and wind instrument repair. In this course, students study all of these aspects from a multifaceted perspective in aims of becoming experts with a comprehensive range of knowledge and skill.

  • Sound Media and Composition Course

    This course carries out music education with new concepts such as utilization of digital technology, which is essential to contemporary musical expression,and collaboration with visual medium. In this course, students learn skills to examine what the musically and artistically excellent sound is and techniques in music production, sound recording, and/or sound reinforcement.

  • Music Care Design Course

    In this course, students learn fundamental knowledge and techniques in music care and study disease and disorder related to music care stage by stage. By having the students accumulate experiences in hospitals, welfare facilities, and local communities, the course aims to foster human resources who are able to contribute to the society by “designing” music care program and to train “music therapists” who are capable of utilizing functions of music in fields of medical treatment and social welfare.

  • Musical Course

    This course aims to foster stage performers who are capable of adding Japanese unique colors to novel entertainment of this age and sublimating it into deeper and definite performing arts. In this course, students cultivate capability to engage production of steric musical works.

  • Dance Performance Course

    Students in this course acquire the acting abilities of dancers and the expressiveness of performers. Along with studying various styles of dance, students also take the vocal and acting lessons required for artists. Students aim to become dancers that will create a new music scene for a new age.

  • Pop and Rock Music Performance Course

    By having students widen their musicality and deepen their understanding of music they play, the course fosters human resources who are capable of performing music voluntarily and creatively. In this course, the students aim to become able to play music in all genres, including pop, rock, and jazz.

  • Music Entertainment Direction Course

    This course fosters professionals in music business and stage management, including music directors, music planners, sound engineers, and lighting technicians, who support stage performances and connect the musical field with the society. In this course, students learn practical skills through internships and develop ability in marketing strategy.

  • Voice Actor and Acting Course

    The occupation of “voice actor” is now expanding to cover a more diverse range of activities than ever before, with high expectations for success in the entertainment industry of the future.
    This course is intended to train and develop versatile voice actors who will be prepared to work immediately in this field, by providing education on the fundamentals required to become a voice actor or anime song singer, as well as instruction in voice projection, articulation, and singing, together with physical training and acting lessons.
    In recent years, “2.5-dimensional musicals” which bring characters from“2-dimensional” works of manga or anime to life have been gaining broad appeal. This course incorporates content on dance, singing, and action-oriented skills with a specific focus on developing voice actors who will also be able to perform on stage. It will be even broadened to allow its students to learn about actual productions of musicals and to gain on-stage experience, making it a truly comprehensive and valuable course.

  • Comprehensive Music Course

    In this course, students can take classes of all other courses in the Division of Music and study music widely and comprehensively during their 1st(freshman) and 2nd (sophomore) years. The students experiment with their possibilities, consider about their courses to take, and select a course of their choices. They can also choose to stay in this course so that they can continue to study music widely and comprehensively.
