Purpose of NUA
Pursuant to provisions of Basic Act on Education (Act No.120 of 2006) and School Education Act (Act No.26 of 1947), the purpose of NUA is to carry out education and research in specialized scholarship and arts concerning the arts and specialized knowledge on human development, to give liberal arts education, and thereby to foster human resources who are able to contribute to the arts, culture and human development in Japan.
Vision and Values
NUA aims to realize creation of new values by cross-cutting academic engagement based on well-balanced educational concepts with intelligence and sensitivity. The university also intends to contribute to the local community and society by intensifying its effort into career education, by strengthening cooperation with local governments and businesses, and by developing education and research with the arts.

Purpose of the School of the Arts
The School of the Arts aims to cultivate individuals with a broad foundation of knowledge and skills in the fields of Music, Performing Arts Production and Management, Arts, Design, and Arts and Liberal Arts. It also emphasizes the development of essential abilities for collaboration, such as language proficiency, logical thinking, and communication skills required in a global society. Through the medium of arts, the program fosters individuals who take initiative and actively engage with society.

The School of Education is dedicated to cultivating early childhood and primary education professionals who possess refined sensitivity and a deep commitment to supporting the growth and development of children. This is achieved through comprehensive instruction in both the theoretical foundations and practical methodologies of childcare and education.

The goal is to cultivate individuals with the character to contribute to the community and society by teaching specialized academic and technical skills in the arts and providing art education grounded in historical and social perspectives.
Vision and Values of the School of Education
The School of Education is committed to cultivating childcare professionals, as well as kindergarten and elementary school teachers, who are capable of making meaningful contributions to their local communities. Through a comprehensive curriculum encompassing the study of educational theories, the acquisition of practical skills, and the accumulation of experiential learning such as teaching practicums, students develop artistic sensitivity and the professional competencies necessary to support the holistic growth and development of children in both educational and welfare settings.

The Bachelor of Education degree is awarded to individuals who, in accordance with the university’s founding philosophy, have developed a humanistic, sensitive, creative, and cultured character rooted in the arts, and who embrace the attitude of “finding joy in the unknown.” These individuals will have acquired fundamental knowledge and practical skills in the fields of education and childcare, and will be capable of collaborating with others to address diverse and open-ended challenges with a spirit of playfulness. Through such engagement, they support children’s development, contribute to their communities, continue to grow, and create new value.
